DISRUPT the STATE
A COV4 Art Exhibit

"DISRUPT the STATE" is a multimedia artistic exploration of creative disruptions that unsettle systems of colonial, racist, and gender-based violence against women of color, trans and queer people of color, and our communities. The exhibit provokes ideas and visions for imaginative responses to violence and restrictive practices that don’t rely on the state.
"DISRUPT the STATE" features the organizing history and political development of INCITE!; the acclaimed exhibition, ‘No Selves to Defend,’ which features the stories of women of color who have been criminalized for self-defense; and the esteemed work of contributing artists, cultural activists, and writers. Timelines, paintings, textiles, photographs, drawings, mixed-media pieces, political posters, text, artifacts, and installations are brought together to explore practices and projects that engage transformative possibilities.
